Parker Animal Hospital Sign Success Story
If you have a furry family member, chances are you’ve heard of, or even visited the Parker Animal Hospital. Since opening its doors in 1972, the hospital has been a favorite in our community.
The Parker Animal Hospital is centrally located on Parker Road, in one of Parker’s three urban renewal areas. Parker Animal Hospital decided to expand the nature of their business, but had a problem with an outdated business sign. By participating in the Façade & Landscape Improvement Program, they were able to pay for a new sign that reflects the welcoming nature of the hospital.
This is precisely why P3, Parker’s Urban Renewal Authority, created the Façade and Landscape Improvement Program (FLIP). This grant program was established to help fund the sometimes-costly improvements to small business exteriors. The goal of the program is to help improve the overall look and curb appeal. The FLIP program helped Parker Animal Hospital offset the cost of a new, more vibrant and welcoming outdoor business sign.
Why is routinely updating the exterior of businesses so important? It’s been proven that when a building’s façade is well taken care of and more pleasing to the eye, people are more likely to frequent these businesses. This action also inspires neighboring businesses to improve their exteriors as well, creating a more welcoming environment overall.

FLIP is a reimbursement grant program that is administered twice a year, in January and June, on a first-come, first-serve basis and is subject to annual Authority funding. P3 can help fund design, construction and improvement costs incurred after grant approval as a component of the construction project. This is a matching grant program, which requires a 1:1 match by the applicant and the maximum grant is $6,250.
